CLEP Exams

WHAT IS CLEP?

CLEP (College Level Exam Program) exams, developed by the College Board, allow you to earn college credit and save valuable time & tuition costs.  CLEP exam credits are accepted by many colleges and universities throughout the US.

 

WE OFFER ALL CLEP EXAMS!

Southwest Houston Test Center is an authorized CLEP testing center.  All CLEP exams require an exam fee to be paid directly to CLEP and a separate test administration fee to be paid directly to the test center.

To take a CLEP exam at our center please follow these steps below:
STEP 1:  REGISTER WITH CLEP

Register and prepay for your CLEP exam directly through the CLEP website at https://clep.collegeboard.org/register.  

 

STEP 2: SCHEDULE THE TEST 

Once you have registered for your test, return to our website and click on Book Now button; follow the instructions to schedule an appointment with us.  If you need a special accommodation while taking the test, please see below.

 

STEP 3: TAKE YOUR TEST 

Come to our test center on your scheduled day, pay the test center administration fee and earn your college credit!  

You may pay the test administration fee with cash or a major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). 

Administration fees are $25 for a standard 90-minute test and $30 for a test with special accommodations.

CLEP ACCOMMODATION TESTING

HOW TO REQUEST AN ACCOMMODATION 

If you require an accommodation (modification of standard testing procedures due to a learning or physical disability):

  1. Go to Schedule an Appointment page
  2. Select CLEP with Accommodation service type
  3.  Select your date and time
  4. Complete the Testing Services Booking Form (select CLEP with Accommodation); be sure to indicate which accommodations are needed
  5. Attach any supporting documentation.

Please allow a minimum of 2 business days for us to review your documentation prior to your exam.

 

Per the CLEP guidelines, test centers can independently approve the following standard/common accommodations:

  • ZoomText (screen magnification)Modifiable screen colors
  • Use of a reader, amanuensis, or a sign language interpreter
  • Extended time
  • Un-timed rest breaks

All other accommodations will need to be approved by CLEP Services prior to registering for your CLEP exam.  You may submit a request form to CLEP directly at the Contact CLEP Services page.
